I run with an Akita and it works very well! The straps don’t come loose when he does try to stop/ go another direction. The pouch fits my IPhone 13Pro Max perfectly making a nice and snug fit. I don’t feel the pouch with my phone bounce at all. I use the side small ones for poop bags and the other for keys.
I’ve had one for months and love the large pouch on the front, for my phone, doggie poop bags and the skippered sides for my key. I have arthritis in my hands so this is perfect for walking my dog. Works nicely. This one I purchased for my sister who walks two dogs, each with their different style so hands free would be great for her younger one, while walking the senior dog on a regular leash. The one thing I would change is I’m regards to the belt. It tends to loosen while walking and needs tightening every once in a while.
I’m a professional dog walker, so I get several hours of use out of this every day. I don’t use the included leash, I love the fannypack! My arms were getting sore from holding leashes all the time and after a couple weeks of using this with normal leashes attached to carabiners they feel much better. That said, I would change a couple things if I could. I wish the d rings could move more freely along the belt (perhaps a very short bungee leash with carabiner clasps on each side?) and I wish there was a way to lock the waistband at a certain size as it tends to loosen.
I like the zipper pouches. There is plenty of space for my phone and keys and poop bags. There are two metal clips for the leash. However they are on the side. It would be great for 2 dogs but with one when she pulls it twists the whole pouch to the side which isn’t comfortable with my phone digging into my side. I had another leash in the past where the clip is right by the buckle in the front. That one seems to function better.
I wrote a 5 star review in July because I was really in love with this belt but recently the side hook snapped off on one of our walks. My dog was in the middle of the road and luckily stayed still long enough for me to grab him. It was incredibly scary. I figured it was just from wear and tear (even though it's only been six months). So I went for a hike today with him using the other side hook when he took off the hook just snapped off! This time he went running straight for a mud puddle. I finally got him but three hours and three baths later he smells like rotten eggs and my belt is no longer operational. My husky shepherd mix is 80 pounds. I think this belt is good for smaller and less active dogs but I'll be buying a more durable belt.
